ADSL GSM Router

The ADSL GSM Router is the ideal solution customers requiring high speed data Internet services via ADSL with the added advantage of GSM data networks (HSUPA/EDGE/GPRS) as backup. The ADSL GSM Router has a buit-in ADSL Modem as well as an integrated HSUPA modem. Connectivity speeds via ADSl will depend on the DSL link speed configured on the customer's telephone line. When switching to the GSM data network, the ADSL GSm Router will connect at the highest available/configured speed.

The ADSL GSM Router is locally designed and manufactured and as such any modifucations/alterations required can be implemented in a relatively short period of time. Applications connect to the ADSL GSM Router via Ethernet and as such customers may connect the device directly onto their local LAN. The device is ideal for high bandwidth applications requiring absolute minimum downtime.

The ADSL GSM Router will automatically switch between ADSL and the GSM Data networks in the event that ADSL become unavailable and will automatically switch back when ADSL is restored. A notification will be sent via eMail in the event that the device switches to GSM thus propmting the customer that the ADSL GSM Router has switched to GSM data and that ADSL is unavailable providing the customer the opportunity to investigate/address the cause without interupting his service. Customer has the option to pre-configure the device so as to limit certain Internet data traffic in order to minimise GSM data costs when ADSL GSM Router is in back-up mode (connected via GSM).

Management

• The ADSL GSM Routers are allocated fixed IP addresses allowing for remote management irrespective of which network (ADSL, Vodacom or MTN) it is connected to. This enables complete remote management of the devices including access to the system logs.
• The device periodically records data usage, signal strength and Network switch-overs.
• The ADSL GSM Routers may be configured to raise alarms to the user via email in the event of network failure or switch-over.
• Remote software upgrades can be done via FTP.
• If required, customers can view and manage their own ADSL GSM Routers via ConnectNet's web portal.

Network Coverage

• The ADSL GSM Router can be deployed wherever Telkom offers ADSL and if backup is required, wherever Vodacom and MTN have network coverage within South Africa.

• 50MB of GSM data included in above tariff
• Data exceeding 50MB bundle will be charged at R1.00 per MB or part thereof
• Internet data bundles and DSL connectivity not included in above tariff ConnectNet may provide these service, please refer tables below
• Standard Installations: R399.00 per ADSL GSM Router
• An Activation Fee of R 120.00 per ADSL GSM Router is payable (once off)
• Monthly subscriptions are payable in advance
• VPNs typically use up 30 MB of data per month
• Monthly invoices and statements will be delivered electronically via e-mail
• Payment by debit order
• Customized tariff options may be negotiated
• Unused monthly GSM data is not transferable to the next month
• ConnectNet reserves the right to adjust tariffs annually and extends this right to adjust tariffs should the cellular network operators adjust their tariffs
